GREAT PYRENEES RESCUE

My wife saw a video on TV the other day of an Indianapolis Fire Department diver pulling a Great Pyrenees named Biscuit from the White River.

The 2-year-old dog was previously rescued from a shelter, but she escaped from her caretakers. Biscuit has cuts, a gash to her left paw and a dislocated knee, which suggests she had been hit by a car.

Donations for her surgery can be made at this website: http://www.igpr.org/

I'm glad they were able to rescure her... poor thing.  My sister's pyr is a wandering sort... fortunately, she doesn't move fast so she's never gotten far.  She knows how to open fence gates... and does... if they're not properly Sadie-proofed.  (Using clips so the latches can't be lifted.)  But... with kids and forgetful neighbors wandering through the yard... sometimes the clips aren't where they're supposed to be.  Oh... and Sadie recently opened the screen door and went for a walk, too...

I'm sooo glad my dog doesn't do such things, lol.

Poor baby - they always say a loose pyr is a disapear.  Boy mine love to wander but they do come back home after about 1 hour.  So far they haven't been any complaints.   I think they just think the neighborhood is the guarding area.

I saw a short clip of that in the news yesterday and I thought it was a pyr.  Such a distinctive face.  I hope he finds a good forever home.  My dad had a pyr mix, but he didn't wander at all.  He stuck by my dad like glue.
